Bio

Dr. Silvia Hodges is specialized in international legal marketing.

She conducts seminars and workshops for partners, associates and staff, coaches lawyers in marketing and business development and consults law firms on individual marketing projects.

Silvia holds a Master’s Degree in Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. She studied at the Universität Bayreuth/Germany, Warwick University/UK, and Emerson College in Brussels.

She completed her PhD on the topic "Marketing legal services to mid-size companies" at Nottingham Law School with Prof. Stephen Mayson, for which she received the Liam Glynn Research Scholarship of the Arizona State University's Center for Services Leadership and the Services Marketing Special Interest Group (SERVSIG) of the American Marketing Association as well as a scholarship from the German Department of Education and Research.

Silvia is a full-time faculty member at Emerson College in Boston where she teaches graduate and undergraduate students in the department of marketing communications. She also guest lectures at Harvard Law School and Fordham Law School.

Silvia has over ten years work experience in marketing. Prior to entering academia, she worked as a marketing manager and consultant to a number of law firms as well as in B2B and B2C marketing.

Silvia frequently lectures and publishes on international professional marketing topics.

Silvia founded the network Legal Marketing Italia and serves as an editorial board member of Strategies magazine for the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) and the CPA Practice Management Forum Strategies-The Journal of Legal Marketing.
